Our Story
Mahika and Isabel's friendship began in 4th grade at their school in Kyiv, Ukraine. From a young age, they were both drawn to women's rights and committed to raising awareness about important social issues. Whether it was running Instagram accounts dedicated to global challenges or having deep conversations about gender equality, they always sought ways to spark change. Their curiosity and commitment to activism only deepened as they learned more about the inequalities that women face every day.
However, after the war, life separated them geographically-Mahika moved to Poland, and Isabel to Florida-but their shared mission remained. As they prepared to enter their freshman year of high school, they decided it was time to take action in a way that would have a real impact. They spent months exploring different ways they could contribute to the fight for women's rights, knowing that every issue was significant. But one subject, in particular, stood out: the early detection of breast cancer. Isabel's personal connection to the subject through her mother's battle with breast cancer, combined with Mahika's passion for breaking down healthcare barriers, led them to focus on this critical issue. They realized the significance of this issue, understanding that early detection could save lives especially in communities where access to healthcare is limited.

From this shared vision, in 2023, MammogramMe, was born-founded on the belief that early detection saves lives, and that more must be done to educate and empower women to prioritize their breast health. Isabel and Mahika are on a mission to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and ultimately contribute to a future where women everywhere have access to the knowledge and resources they need to detect breast cancer early.
While their mission is global, Mahika and Isabel are especially committed to helping women in Ukraine, where access to critical healthcare is more crucial now than ever.
